Full grain leather is the very best. It is the top layer of the hide before its being split down to second or third cuts of suede type leather.

Leather Care
Here are a few tips for maintaining your leather apparel in a longer lasting healthier condition.
Cleaning
To keep your leather garments looking their best, always use a high quality cleaning product and leather conditioner.
Gently use a microfibre or soft cloth to wipe dirt and dust off the leather.
For persistent dirt, road grime and bugs use a damp cloth or sponge with saddlesoap to clean, then polish with a clean soft cloth and apply a conditioner.
Conditioning
In the harsh sun, leather gets dry. Treat with a quality leather conditioner, preferably made from natural products.
With age the leather may change, as with all natural products; but given care, ageing will often improve the look of leather.
Wet Gear
If leather gets wet, dry it slowly. Speed drying will change its structure and you may end up with a stiff crinkled and cracked product.
Aim for room temperature drying with gentle air rather than direct heat, and most importantly keep it in the shape you want it to end up, as leather will remember the shape it was when wet.
Storage
When storing your leather garments, always keep them well ventilated.
Never store in plastic: leather needs to breathe. You are trying to prevent any mildew growth.
